The Association had the pleasure of being invited by Chairman Richard’s Royal County of Berkshire to play at Windsor and Eton Bowling Club. In pleasant surroundings in the centre of the historic town the green is safely owned by the National Trust, although it is not quite so picturesque since replacement of the thatched roof that I remember.

With Richard’s assistance everyone managed the complexities of the car park, and some may have had time for some sightseeing.

Berkshire won the match by 9 shots, the score being 103 – 112.

Top rink for HCBA were from Surrey (with the help of a local substitute), being Don Davies, Kel Crump, Martin Bevan and Rosin Fudge who won 24 – 13.

The other rink scores were;
Buckinghamshire lost 11-25
Kent won 18-14
Middlesex lost 15-21
Oxfordshire lost 17-21
Sussex drew 18-18.
