The HCBA recorded their second success under the leadership of Chairman Roger Lanham (Surrey) with a resounding win against the Eastern Counties Bowling Association at the welcoming Bishop's Stortford Bowling Club last Thursday.

With the sun on their backs and playing on an excellent green in its beautiful rural setting, the HCBA team did their Chairman well, taking the game 154-93, with winning rinks from Bucks 26-17, Berkshire 25-15, Surrey 27-17, Oxfordshire 27-17 and highest winning rink of Paul Chivers, Ray Stephens, Dave Bell and Lindsay Bangs from Sussex 30-6 who more than covered the two shots loss 19-21, of the Middlesex rink.

The host club's great hospitality concluded with a superb three course after-match meal to round off a most enjoyable days bowling.

On May 26th, the Chairman's home club, Sutton BC, hosted the game between the HCBA and the Chairman's home county Surrey.

Once again the game was played in beautiful sunny weather on an excellent green at another first class club. A much closer contest this time saw the HCBA record a 119-111 win, with a rinks breakdown of 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
The victory was secured with the Oxfordshire rink of Henry Franklin, David Varney, Mick Morris and Ian Whelpton winning 32-12.

The next game will be against Champion County, Kent, on July 14th at Sevenoaks BC.
