As Chairman Richard was engaged elsewhere. Deputy Chairman John Lonergan lead the Home Counties for an enjoyable afternoon in our second fixture of the year, in the annual friendly against Eastern Counties. The results will show that some rinks may have enjoyed the game more than others!

On a pleasantly clement afternoon we were given a warm welcome by the excellent Bishops Stortford Bowls Club, and by Eastern Counties Bowling Association President Keith Riley.
The Home Counties won the match by 154 – 121, a margin of 33.

The top rink went to the Oxfordshire rink of Allan Hunt, John Duncan, Steve Tolhurst and Alan Wase with a margin of 31 – 9.

The other rink scores were;
Berkshire won 27-14
Buckinghamshire won 18 -15
Kent lost 10 – 24
Middlesex lost 19 – 25
Surrey won 23 – 21
Sussex won 26 – 13

We look forward to reconvening next week when we play the Chairman’s Royal County of Berkshire at Windsor and Eton B.C.
